Troubles
Aug 6, 2020:
Sometimes, it’s difficult to write about moseying down the not so well travelled trail on the old grey mare in search of one’s creative soul when all the world is bunkered at home in such unprecedented disarray (probably why the trail is somewhat desolate).
I recently found out that one of my cousins from back east, who is several years younger than I am had a debilitating stroke. This after his older brother passed away from skin cancer merely a couple of years earlier. It’s a bummer in a world full of bummers, but I know that we all have our share. My thoughts are with you Carl.
Every time I turn on the news, I come to realize that I shouldn’t be turning on the news at all because all they do is remind me of everything that is wrong with this spiraling piece of rock that we live on. As good ole’ Ozzy Osborne once screamed, “I’m going off the rails on this crazy train”. He nailed that one, didn’t he?
As No Fixed Address awaits the outcome of the $20,000 summer song contest, I thought I would put together another rap tune that might best express my sentiments about current affairs. I thought I would record this one. The video's below. Sing along if you'd like.
Troubles
Drinking wine is not my entertainment – drowning in whiskey is strictly my arrangement
Living in a world of crazy self-containment – everybody’s high on wealthy infotainment
Gotta hop the train to my personal development - keep it moving strong with limited impediments
Trouble’s in the back – troubles in the back – I got troubles in the back and I don’t know where it’s at – I got troubles – troubles
Trying to find me a little moral sanity – something that seems lost in a world made up of Hannity’s
What ever happened to a little touch of empathy – I say this simply with all my fake sincerity
Gonna have a talk with the head illuminati – kick ‘em in the junk with his brand-new blue Bugatti
Troubles in the back – troubles in the back – I got troubles in the back and I don’t where I’m at – I got troubles – troubles
Hockey playoffs in the summertime – close the pools, and watch it all on Prime
Wouldn’t it be better if it wasn’t so sublime, can “The Don” even read a simple nursery rhyme?
Looking for a cure and hoping it’s on time – can we take anymore from this family of crime
Trouble’s in the back – troubles in the back – I got troubles in the back and I don’t know where it’s at – I got troubles – troubles
Gonna send this off to Jimmy Fallon – he’s got Roots and viewers by the gallon
Maybe he can help to bring us some morale in – sing us a song while eating some Italian
Time to wrap it up in an also ran medallion - vote the moron out if it takes a huge battalion
Trouble’s in the back – troubles in the back – I got troubles in the back and I don’t know where it’s at – I got troubles – troubles
Until next time
